Urgent Care Centers are medical facilities that offer non-life-threatening care, illnesses and injuries. Most clinics and facilities offer rapid care with lower cost alternatives than the ER and can treat a wide range of medical problems.
When should you go to the urgent care vs emergency room?
If you have a life threatening emergency that requires immediate medical help, you should go to the ER or call 911 immediately.
If you have a non-life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical help, you can go to the nearest urgent care center.
Most times, urgent care costs are much more cost efficient than going to the ER. If you do not have a life-threatening injury or illness, it’s possible you can get treatment at an urgent care center.
